Foothold on the sun
My heart sings as I walk on springs,
With foothold on the sun, unburned.
Your love fills my heart, my soul,
My whole being.
I swim in love –
I fly without wings.
Joy clings to my feet,
Gratitude fills my mouth.
So I sing, I dance in the air,
My claps echo with harmony.
Happiness knows no rival
Since you arrived with your love.
Your touch feels like gripping an eel –
Indescribable electric waves
Race through my nerves,
A rave of my rhythmic faves
Throbbing like thunder through speakers,
Flooding my head…
But like a moth crawling aimlessly,
My mind searches for the calm you disturbed
With just one flash of your anger.
Now, whenever I see you,
Trepidation floats alongside the joy
That your love always brings.
You divide me into separate parts –
Love and unlove –
Revealed by the shape of your mouth,
Sometimes curving into smiles,
Sometimes twisting into spite.
Yet both come from your heart,
That loves and unloves in equal measure ~
A skill I have learned without a teacher.
Your love blooms like a flower with no petals,
Its pollen scattered on leaves
Where butterfly wings brush softly,
But their proboscis cannot probe.
Still, it shines brighter than any other in the garden,
A garden where love visits only on holidays ~
When bees hum and scatter in confusion.
