Fool Me Once

You fooled me once with sunlit words of delusion no more daydreams lost in sweet illusion. So fine-looking and charming you were once I would goo-goo eye and drool your fine looks as soon as you smiled I was in your hooks My flaky judgments didn't mean I was a dunce You like to pick, kick, watch and wear a crown constant mocking making me out a fool as you drank your Coors beer on your stool proving to be a buffoon and a clown Cruel thoughts innately placed in my brain to want to stay and try to work things out With name-calling whirling about you lout I've wasted my time, I will not remain Poetry Contest: Fool me once Sponsored by: Brenda Chiri

Now that was hard hitting for sure. That last stanza, wow, I'm surprised it wasn't written in all CAPS. :) Nicely done Eve. Much luck in the contest
