Notes About The Poem

This happened two weeks ago. It was awful but I recovered.

Food Poisoning

Went to the grocery store
Decided to keep eating clean
Which can be a chore
Grocery shopping and budgeting

I usually trust my instincts but
This time regret I did not
Ate a few bites got it in my gut
Soon threw up so hard

My vomit was super sonic
I was sure everyone heard
That fruit was cut by demonic
Knife unclean was the word

Never will buy fruit again
From that grocery store
Ate only a few bites and
Was sick until well after four

Sounds horrible. I still remember my 1981 food-poisoning episode. It was 30 years until I screwed up the courage to eat quiche again.

'Super-sonic vomit.' Better than 'Spam in a Can.' Can't stop laughing...

Sorry to hear that you got food poisoning. It makes us so sick. Once I got it. I didn't throw up, but suffered from severe stomach ache, loose motion and fever. Wish you Karen, a speedy recovery.

Dear Karen, oh wow, food poisoning is the worst! I do hope you are much better. I viscerally could experience your poem. Maybe because I have memories that go along with your message. Autumn Blessings, Dear Karen, Daniel

Thanks dear! It was awful but I’m happy that it taught me to never buy fresh fruit cut from that store again! Autumn blessings returned!
