FONDEST MEMORY
FONDEST MEMORY
A childhood memory considered as fond, I can’t recall
Perhaps it all was satisfactory, better than nothing at all
There was a love and kindness, little to complain about
Some days were only a blur, but some things stood out
Like the time when I must have been just five years old
First day at school when everyone did as they were told
Kind teacher and simple rules, with a degree of lenience
Exploring a new world, and playtime a novel experience
My home life was fine, I had toys and food on the table
And nudging against the boundaries, as far as I was able
There were good times for sure, when I fill in those gaps
Yet was any memory fond, maybe none - or all, perhaps
