Fondest Memory

Contest by Julianne Williams

Me, a playful kid never bothered for rank, always considered all school exams as fun. Not engaged in study, but most of time sank in doing menace and playing in the Sun. Sure to miss high rank in Examination, when in fifth standard : Bad luck, just by one mark. Me , extremely shocked without consolation. Seemed it , as injustice to me, getting jerk. Became determined to stand First on next year. Succeeded ! Showed report to Dad being loud. Delighted Dad hugged me tight, telling , " My Dear, " Your success matters more than mine, I'm so proud." Later life, I felt exact same emotion : Success of my children got prominence. Their achievements brought blissful satisfaction : My performances have just lost importance.
