Follow Your Heart

Love inflicts a pain that's hard to bear; dredging up feelings time's steeped in fear. And yet, you realize fate doesn't care; facing truths you wish would disappear. The sting of rejection scuttles hope: adrift, amidst shadows of darkness. And faith slides down a slippery slope, as empty lies, embellish starkness. Fragile feelings, like paper dreams tear; caught in a cycle of push and shove. For pride conceals a failing affair: fueled by an unrequited love. Find your happy place, and dry your tears; cease crying and look for someone new. Life is not as bleak as it appears: follow your heart, and let hope guide you.

You have woven the fragility of human emotions into your work masterfully as always Emile. Human love and feelings are too sensitive to be treated clumsily. You last two verses give the answer like ointment to heal the wound. A Big 7 my friend ... Maria

This is AMAZING! I love it Emile, it touches me at a time when I needed to read something like this. Though not in the ring of love, but more in the ring of friendship.. I've found hardships that this would see me through. It was wrote for you, but somehow I feel I was meant to see it. God bless. 7 only because I can't rate higher.

Good Morning Emile. This is so eloquently and beautifully stated and expressed. May we remember your words of inspiration and words of worth. Honestly. This entry is whole and should be considered as whole but if you take each stanza one by one everything has a message. Wonderful work in its entirety. Have a wonderful day.
