Conga line

Listen to poem:

Follow Me

Follow Me

Come on, join in,
hook onto the end
of the conga line!
Hands on the hips of one ahead
all following along
in a snaky, winding, whooping line
like a centipede jiggly jiving, legs astride!
Three shuffles on the beat, step, step step,
then a high kick, to one side or the other,
all in step to the four beats to a bar, Conga dance time.
Who knows where we're headed,
Did the lemmings care?
No No No, What the Hell, Who cares?
It's follow me, follow me, follow me, follow me
on the Conga Line!

For a fun time, I'm in John. Good luck in the contest! Fun poem to read and it pushes the right buttons in my memories box. Have a fun Day! A poet friend in Texas, Bill
