Flying Fairies

Have you ever seen a fairy fly by?
Perhaps you have and didn't know you did.
You thought she was a pretty butterfly,
Or even a fast flying humming bird.
But if it does happen that you see one,
You must not take the time to even blink,
For the fairy though she's very tiny,
Is faster than a nectar seeking bee.
If you think eyes have deceived you, listen,
You might just hear the tinkle of her bell.
Few of us have ever seen a fairy.
Friends may state that you saw not what you saw.
Knowing you've been honored by her visit,
You hold her tight within your memory.
Sometime in your leisure you'll remember
It was a thrill to see her that May day.
