Fly Away, Birdie
A bird pulls up a
girl's smile —
sings rooted, broken shoo.
trees have been there
before her time —
they have no more time
Shadows leave their boughs,
seen in the light, where
she never lifts off gently,
she's never flying easy,
such is intensity —
fly away
