Fluffy the Goldfish Goldie the Cat
When my daughter Jennifer was four
She was living with her Grandma and me
Every night before I put her to bed
I would read her stories form her little books
One night before she was ready for bed
In her pajamas, she had her little arms full
Of her little books ready for me to read
I got one kind of on purpose
She was as sharp as a tack, never missed a thing
I opened the book and started to read
"Fluffy The Goldfish and Goldie The Cat
Her eyes opened wide and said
"Daddy it is Goldie The Goldfish and Fluffy The Cat"
I reared back in surprise, "Oh who told you that"
She had memorized them word for word
"Daddy, I have read those books a thousand times"
" I am going to give you one more chance, now read it right"
Half way through this time, I looked over at her
She was sounded asleep, I gave her a kiss and hug
I got up and turned out the light
