Flowers of Spring

Frühlingsblumen / Flowers of Spring / Flores de primavera

Tage sind länger
Und Frühlingsblumen blühen
In den Vorgärten

An einer Linde am Fluss
Klopft nur ein Specht seinen Takt

Days are longer
And spring flowers are blooming
In the front gardens

A linden tree by the river
Only a woodpecker beats his beat

Días son más largos
Flores de primavera florescen
En los jardines

Un árbol de tilo al río
Sólo un pájaro carpintero golpea a su ritmo

Hi Bert. This is our heart's desire as we are thawing out from out long winter in the midwest Longing to see the delicate lil yellow flowers of the Linden trees at the arboretum and the occasional sound of a woodpecker. Enjoyed. Gwendolen

I love this - especially written in three languages! I only have to see anything written in German and I'm back there in our favourite holiday destination - such a beautiful country and such a beautiful language. Jack : )

The quiet of spring day is interrupted by a woodpecker. :) Nice! Have a nice weekend yourself! Caroline.

Finally the days ARE getting longer. Has spring finally arrived in Germany, Gert? I love the image of the woodpecker tapping on the tree. Thanks to you, I am noticing more similarities between Spanish and the little bit of French I studied. For example, jardine is French for garden and les fleurs (I think I spelled it correctly) is French for flowers. Beautiful images in your tanka, my friend. Love, Carolyn

Sorry about your hand and arm, Gert. Keep thinking of spring flowers and in three languages. Makes the scene thrice as nice. Love, Dave
