The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Floral Gifts

ceiling-to-floor stone fireplace,

uplifted with Mother’s Day gifts:

     amidst the painted flower trio,

sunny bright and purple mums,

yellow glad-iolus, ma-genta roses

in red-ribbed vase, hearth-right;

and butterscotch lantanas, on left…

     now in a planter on the porch,

inviting hummingbirds and butterflies.

Just gorgeous, Kim. I like how you italicized part of words to invoke the feeling. <3

Dear Kim, Oh my, such a gentle bouquet of gratitude and beauty that radiates warmth and love. I can see the beautiful blooms, feel the hearth’s comfort, and imagine the porch alive with hummingbirds and butterflies. I think your words capture the simple joys that linger long after the flowers are given. Such a tender, sunlit moment where your poetry always brightens my day. Spring Blessings, My Dear Kim, Daniel

Yes! It’s been a week and they still flourish. The lantanas will last even longer but my love for my daughters will never end. Hugs

Descriptive lines penned. So wonderful that the mother could put all those plants to such a useful service. Sara K
