Flood Waters

As the rain falls day after day
The levies start to break away
The roads are flooded everywhere
No way to get from here to there
The skies open and cry again
As the rising waters box us in
Sometimes the pain of old man winter
Hurts just like a festering splinter
But that’s ok we have seen it all before
As once again the skies start to pour
Just when you think its over you should know
The true flood comes with the melting snow
