Flight of Infatuation
A kite,
A red balloon,
chasing folly to the moon,
something new and shiny
with I love you there in gold,
and I feel old
and worn,
a dark pinata torn
and emptied,
by this world.................
and there it is...............
Loves' shadow,
caught and tethered
in the branches of
neglect,
and I reflect while
someone prays,
My struggle's cost?
a wondering heart released,
reaching back to cast
a distant "why?",
Weighing myself in
lonely mirrors,
I search heaven..............
and call
you.
