Flames
A Light she was
Brighter than the sun she shone
The butterflies in my stomach doing somersaults
My eyes begging for her sight
My heart yearning for her love
A beauty! My Aphrodite
The smoke I smelt before the flames I saw
On fire was my heart, a cursed fire it was
Spreading from its core
Threatening to engulf me
Every pore in my body which wanted her was burning
She turned towards me, froze and stood still
I backed, turned, ran forward
Away from her from the fire
Knowing well there was no escape because it was my heart
Then why did I do it? Run away
Oh yes I know why
It was not me it was her, the traitor
Betrayal of my trust, my love, my life
