Flame of Talent

Methodically, he gives to us The beauty from his hands Strumming strings and playing songs This gentle hearted man A talent shines within his heart That he puts on display Beauty and music side by side I hope it never goes away The flame of talent, diminishing now As ability leaves his being A rare form of cancer steals his songs Leaving us just grieving It’s bursting his bones, shattering dreams Any dream he may have ever had This once beautiful soul, playing tunes Is now black and turning mad. I pray for him this given day I’ll pray for him tomorrow I also wish that he could see The rest of the world’s sorrow For it doesn’t matter who we are Or how young we even feel If illness comes, a test from God, Our lives, it may just steal.
