Notes About The Poem

I was very close to my father and was with him the night
he died.  I was not very well physically at that time and
now the emotional pain was severe.  Three years later,
the Lord sent me a friend who showed me how to find
the Jesus, the Lord and when He came into my life
and saved me and filled me with His Spirit, my life
changed drastically!  Praise the LORD!

Five Years Daddy

It has been more than five years now dad
since I have seen your face 
I remember that gentle smile and thoughtful look
that my God took from me through grace.

Now, Jesus also has taken my sorrow and my tears
and turned them into joy  
He shared with me His love and His power
and brought me through my darkest hour.

The greatest joy I have now dad
lies in this one fact 
that you and I and all God’s children 
will soon be together again when Jesus to earth comes back!
