Five-inning Quitters

The more other sports change the more baseball stays the same Bleeding fans as well as talented players the ‘national pastime’ needs our prayers So, I have a suggestion whose time has come one for which I want to bang the drum No more ‘win’ for a starting pitcher who is a ‘five-inning’ quitter Either six complete innings from him ~ or he can take his shower at the local gym

Lol. I don't quite understand baseball. I did notice that there was a gambling scandal. I liked the rhyme.

Gambling used to be illegal, remember? Now all the fans can gamble, and so can the players --- but not on their own teams or themselves. But they do, the fools.

You're right. It's absurd. Remember the days when the manager used to be afraid to take out a starting pitcher like Drysdale, Koufax, Newcombe, Carlton, Fergie Jenkins, Seaver, Spahn, Marichal, et al? Now: Five innings - Come and get me.... Blech! Bunch of sissies now.
