Fitzroy Crossing
I'm going back to Fitzroy
Gonna build me self
A bridge
Something that's a little bit
More sturdy
A little bit more
Ridgy Didge
Am going back to Fitzroy
An hang out
With old Jack
In the shade of a Boab
And watch
As he paints
With a twig
Am going back to Fitzroy
Check on the
River and Hill people
Plains people
Desert people
The people
Who just want
A Voice
Am going back to Fitzroy
An stir up an old
Pigeon
I might find him
Out near Geikie Gorge
Or hiding
In Tunnel creek
Am going back to Fitzroy
Just to bask
In its expanse
Those distant
Shimmering hills
By day
Those distant
Shimmering stars
By night
Come with me
Back to Fitzroy
And help
To build a bridge
With these Peoples
