Fishing

Old Bill had bought a fishing rod
But didn't catch a thing
Then Sam had caught a whopper
On a hook and a piece of string

But Bill say's it's beginners luck
No one is as good as me
So when he cast's his line again
He hooks it on a tree

There is a moral to this story
Don't go fishing

Hi Robert, don't worry about reading my poems, we are the same sometimes, in fact both Peter and I quite often forget, I think it must be our age, I am so glad you liked it, we are the same we used to do a lot of fishing but all of a sudden we don't like seeing poor little fish hanging at the of a hook (mind you we do eat fish), anyway Robert you take care and look after that lovely little wife of yours..........Vera

Hi Lindsay, thank you for this comment, so glad it made you laugh, this poem came to me when my brother was telling us about his fishing trip but the difference was he catches heaps, not that we ever see them, he lives on them, hope you are well and had a lovely break, take care.........Vera

Hi My dearest friend, so glad this made you laugh, but please don't read them before you go into surgery, I don't want to be responsible for your stitches coming apart OMG would that be awful, no we don't go fishing anymore, we eat fish but I cant stand to see the poor little buggers hanging off the line, it seems quite cruel to me, anyway my dear thank you for reading it and take care my American sister, hi to Tom.......Vera.

Hi Connie thank you so much for the comment, I have no idea where it came from, but sometimes I get something on my mind and Peter always tells me to jot it down so I do and it is surprising what I can come up with, lovely of you to take the time to read, hope you are well, take care and say hello to your lovely little granddaughter......Vera.
