Fish Net Stockings

It was 1971, and I wore fish net stockings at the end of the school year I had no garter belt so I used knots but they soon fell to my ankles, Oh Dear ! December 1, 2021 ps, This is a true story. My Aunt Annetta worked in a hosiery factory she brought me some bright pink fish net socks and told me to wait until mom bought me a garter belt. I was so eager to wear them I did what all the grown women do, put knots in them. But as I walked into the gymnasium, the stockings fell to my ankles. I never forgot the embarrassing moment. Although it seems quite funny today, it was quite a disaster back then.

My math teacher in high school came to the classroom with two different shoes on one day. That memory came to me as I read your poem. Poor guy. I wonder if he remembers. Your stocking mishap must have been tough in front of others when you were young. Kids can be so mean. I went to a party years ago and forgot to zip up my dress in the back about 1/2 way down. It was dreadfully embarrassing. Isn't it nice we can laugh about these things now?

Oh, I can imagine what a huge disaster that was! Even reading it now, the smile is tinged with that realization. :) gw

I shall always remember a busty young girl jumping off the diving bird followed by a plop plop of her falsies rising to the surface. We learn best from experience .....Enjoyed! Aloha!

You are bringing back memories, Mystic Rose Rose! I, too, tried knotting my fishnet stockings unsuccessfully, though I somehow avoided public embarrassment. I love your poem, and it's a fave. :D
