first woman and fire man

Navajo legend explains that four lights were not enough for the people. They wanted more, so first woman asked fire man for help with a fifth light. She dressed in traditional coral and turquoise clothing, to please the gods. Fire man offered first woman the sun, which flickered most of the day. He had fallen in love with her, but could not leave his campfire. She visited him at night, but was not allowed to look into his fire. So with her back to him, she spoke of lovely things, and told him stories. It was more than enough, they were friends until the end of their days.
