First Steps

Who we are, are what we
stand on. Even with cracks underneath,
our pride is firm.

Not much like newborn skin, however it is where life begins
all the way up until we take that tough first stand; there;
we began our prideful journey.

At that moment we stood for something
or someone, but we stood all the same. And
someone told us it was okay and to be proud of our first steps.

The concept is ok, the poem might be written better than so. You have the quality and depth of thought to transform this poem in much better verses. Excuse my frank opinion, which is to push your quality up! I might be in error, so take it as encouragement.
