First Kiss

Our first kiss
was meant to be our last - 
the seal on a  pact
not to complicate each other's lives.
But when our lips and mouths met
the universe stood still
and the only movement
was of our souls embracing each other.

As we took leave of each other
we knew that we would never part again.
