First Day At School

My mom dropped me off at kindergarten
I looked in and followed her right back out
She said, "Oh no, you have to stay till noon!"
Toys and a fish tank soon removed my doubt

I saw a boy find something in his nose
He put in his mouth, that something he got
I guess he was thinking that it was food
I wasn't sure, but I was thinking it's not!

When it was noon, I was glad I could leave
Not liking those girls with pink shoes, so strange
Not knowing I'd have to come back again,
And just how soon that my mind would change!

oh so sweet Pat... bet mummy didn't tell him he'd have to go back to school for many years lol - got to say was chatting with mum today and my school days were the worst of my life as I was hit by the teacher on my first day at infant's school and bullied throughout my childhood so I had a real empathy with kids I worked with who also suffered from being bullied... of course I've written poems on both issues lol-( hugs jan xx
