Nice to congratulate me
About my new little rhyme
That won honorable mention
Lady informed me, so kind!

How I even got noticed
What was written on a whim
First time in poetry contest
Thrilled I got a little win. 

It’s given me confidence
Gonna continue to write
Willing now share my poems 
Way I think hope you’ll like.

Always so surprised when find
Thoughts tumble off my pen
Who knows... maybe once again
Have another little win?

I understand this when I paint...but almost frightening to read what I've written some times...because poems are not about my life.
