Teddy Kimathi Poet Free verse

Fireworks

The eyes of my heart glittered with awe,
when I saw the darkness in me light up,
making me see things that were good
and bad; things I didn't know existed
inside me; things I didn't want my beloved
to see....

Splendor of the fireworks spiraling
and shooting calligraphically across my dark
space didn't last long; the sparks had
revealed some dark things about me,
which my beloved couldn't destroy or erase.

.....like a wolf which belongs in the wild,
she packed and left me in my world....
