Fireworks

Hear them crackle, whistle, hiss, hum and boom. See them soar with power of black powder. Bright plumes and pretty flowers from them bloom! Listen to their flash go loud and louder! See them soar with power of black powder. Such great fun for one’s inner girl or boy. Listen to their flash go loud and louder! Fireworks for many are a taste of joy. Such great fun for one’s inner girl or boy, bright plumes and pretty flowers from them bloom. Fireworks for many are a taste of joy. Hear them crackle, whistle, hiss, hum and boom! A lovely poem Andrea, young children can't wait till Guy Fawkes night, I know I was the same were you not? When we got older we realized the harm it does to our pets. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

I can barely spell onomatopoeia, so I had to look it up. Starting with these words made this poem so JAZZY!

just come up with six lines that have rhyming partners which you are able to organize the way the pattern says. It's much easier to do with only three stanzas like she has us doing!

Great imagery in your words, Andrea, loved your onomatopoeic word choice:)

Hello Andrea … yes, fireworks can be spectacular although I didn’t think this on NYE when anonymous lit one outside my bedroom window after I had fallen asleep - thank you Andrea - Lindsay

Well written Pantoum Andrea. I like writing Pantoums. I don't know why. It is one such form that makes me happy while writing, and I have tried writing them... here. For this contest, I have to THINK.. I may enter, if I write. Yours is rhyming very well.. Fireworks are fun to watch.. also reminds us of festivities of childhood. GREAT work by you. Hugs ~ Ani

I believe that you have recorded all the fireworks sounds and then some! Interesting: I'm so captivated by the 'pretty plumes,' that I hardly notice the 'tunes.' G.L. in the contest, Andrea! ~ Light up the Skies, Gershon

thanks. I forgot to get in the "smell" of fireworks but there were not enough lines for it, and I could think of nothing to rhyme well with "sulpher" or "rotten eggs"
