I think reading fairy tales in the past was so much better. In today's world imagination could be lost to the screen. Perhaps a parent keeps their child unspoiled by pulling each onto her lap and reading the originals, perhaps the Grimm version (lol), so their child can hear the lovely words rolling from their mama's or papa's tongue, and dream a little dream of their own.

Dear Kim, there's something special about being read to as a child, isn't there? You're right, in today's world, it's easy to get caught up in screens, screens cannot read books the way the words come alive in a parent's voice, the way it sparks imagination and creativity. Your poem captures that magic beautifully, with lovely imagery. Although some children might find the Grimms version a bit scary haha. Best,Anne
