The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Fire and Smoke

Keep caution
Amongst their souls
I will end in fire
But not with you
Not together

Keep vigilance
Through the darkness
I shall perish in flame
But you must go on
The others need you

Keep courage
In the battle
Glory I go through smoke
But you must stay
Your time is not yet

Keep returning
From losses
I see fire and smoke
But you see hope
Pass it on
You are their leader now

Keep love
Even in anger
I am trapped
Yet you are free
Motivate them
Soldiers
Or they will come to my fate

Keep your heart and soul
Even as you fall apart
I see death
While you see life
Give it to them
Or they will lose it

I see fire
Fire and smoke
Spiraling to the sky
The night is burning
I must close my eyes
The sky is crashing down

I see smoke
Smoke and fire
Burning the wind
The city is gone
I am broken
But you are not

Keep me
In your memory
Or you will break

You can do serious writing too, I see here, Grace. This abstract piece leads me to appreciate the internal battles that our military goes through because of their dedication to the task of freedom. Thanks for sharing, Grace.
