Finishing Second

Finishing Second By: Tom Wright 1-8-2020 By finishing first I avoid feeling downcast, I see scant disparity from second to last. The victor always got to pick the plum, while second place donned a face of glum. In life, when I’ve failed to keep up the pace, I ended up an also ran, just taking up space. I’ve won some races by exhibiting the most guts, and a few I’ve lost by not knowing the shortcuts. Life is like a race, it has a start, a finish, and an undetermined amount of steps in between. Tom
