Find the Eyes
Winning games, such a fun
Lingering doubts like a taste in the mouth
Tucked in a blanket, fears still run
A strong dreamer sent to scout
Sit quietly and listen, watch to know
Mornings are pleasant, evenings for a call
Face disturbed for bogeyman to show
Pranks they thought, off to bed and fall
Wink and smile to trick all of those times
She’ll be right beside and kissed goodnight
Gathered some courage to hold a new frame
In a child’s eyes, it’s a secret to hold on tight
Running hours like imaginations ran wild
Slip back to time where castles are made
Out of sheet draped across two chairs and tied
This brief moment draws a smile which never fades
In loneliness when you are past your prime
Take some time and absorb the pleasures
A time out and break into childhood time
Try to find the eyes back to your youthful leisure
