Those eggs to help pay for the food don't they, Gershon. My mother and my husband's mother would cook the hens when they got older and non-productive. They would be tough so they would have to boil them for a long time. My mother would either make dumplings or dressing or both. The dumplings would be on the first day and the dressing the second day. She could stretch a bird. She would let the hens nest though where my mother-in-law would not. Sara K. 👍⭐
