It was at the final station The symphony lived and died Cracked ribs as consolation Their mercy misapplied The symphony lived and died In search of silent, truthful land Their mercy misapplied Justice stayed Her honest hand In search of silent, truthful land Prayers went up, steadfast and succinct Justice stayed Her honest hand With upturned eyes to God, and blinked Prayers went up, steadfast and succinct They began to doubt the world of sense With upturned eyes to God, they blinked With bated breath held in suspense They began to doubt the world of sense Infinite time, space, and distance With bated breath held in suspense Saved at Fate’s insistence
