Final Scene

Walking along the waters’ edge Bare feet sinking in the sand My emotions teetering on an imaginary ledge Guardian Angel...please lend me a hand The turmoil inside, twisting like a tornado Unable to distinguish between up or down My thoughts being moulded like play dough Bringing to my face a solitary frown The thought of death is somehow comforting Knowing finality may finally bring peace I used to be scared of dying; now I’m scared of living Please, I just want my pain to cease I turn and face the water and walk in knee deep The roaring of waves, bring to life my souls’ screams I pray to God “for my soul to keep” As the setting sun on the water gleams The astounding beauty that my eyes behold Will forever be etched into part of my soul The water on my shoulders is icy cold As I take my final breath and surrender all control. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ©copyright Juanita Torr ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
