Final Closure
Locked safe inside her waking dream,
deep where trouble cannot find,
she keeps safe all her darkest fears in encrypted lines.
Her mistake was that she cared too much;
that she ever cared at all.
In the end it was the death of her,
it caused at last her fall.
For she kept secrets
from the very ones who could have helped,
oh had she but thought to open up herself.
But death brought final closure
as with death her secret died.
And all that would have rescued hope
along with hope did cry.
She lies in sleep forever now,
in rest from torment’s guile.
All but those she loved have gone
and those who loved her tarry,
but only for a little while.
