Filling My Shoes
When you walk in my shoes and fill them, will you fit them well?
Will you feel comfortable and slowly mold into your new shoes,
or will there be big uncomfortable gaps, soreness with a lack of empathy?
Will you feel comfortable in my old shoes and pay attention to those in need?
Will you show kindness, be thoughtful and take time to listen, be supportive?
Will you help them adjust to my old shoes slowly becoming yours with comfort and grace?
Will you really care and bring happiness or will you bring sadness and grief?
I hope you fill my old shoes slowly, comfortably and they soon become yours,
and become shiny, new, welcoming and bring hope to those in need.
Hopefully you will stay in your new shoes and wear them well, as the gaps shrink and mold to you, they will be more comfortable and all your own.
