Fight Back
I may seem vulnerable sitting here
Staring off into the distance at the sight of the street.
Occasionally looking at the passer bys,
And sometimes even at my feet.
But what you cannot see is my strength.
I have a sword of experience,
A shield of broken memories,
And a helmet of common sense.
Although at times I'm afraid to fight,
I have what it takes to take a stand.
Fear is merely my best friend
There by me, holding my hand.
It seems like everyone is against me,
Like i'm surrounded by soldiers of self-doubt.
And let me tell you, the company
Is somehing I can live without.
So judge me not
When you first see me.
I may seem scared and shy,
But there is so much more than your eyes can see.
