Fields of Rain

I stood in fields of rain... arms hurled with drench... The cold my heart defended with a symphony of storm... at my back... the time...the dark rose fast... immersed in cloud debris.. My soul implored - lay rendered... Generations of warriors stood still... lightening - found settlement in rise... shoulder to shoulder with pride... battle fields once besieged... torment scarred the bereaved... a shield lay neath soaked feet... unclaimed medals left retreat.
