Fidgit Christmas Jitters
I want to write about Christmas cookies,
Angels that hang on the tree,
and look at me…
then smile.
I want to write about Mistletoe,
and first kisses,
red cheeks,
red noses,
and roses.
I want to share the feeling that I get,
when I am waiting for his call,
from overseas.
When I can not think fast enough,
to say all that I want too,
all that I need too,
when I can not think at all,
just to hear his voice.
I need to write my words down,
before the telephone rings.
I need to hold them tight to the paper,
and make them behave…
The only naughty list I want to be on…
is his…
for all the romantic,
sexy words,
I plan to whisper and recite,
on time…
just right.
I want to celebrate the day,
in every way…
He is alive somewhere,
I can never be,
but his heart…
it is right here,
home,
with me.
