Feminine Mystique

How can you be so far from away?
And still we touch.
This feeling excites and frightens me,
All at once

As I sing in silence,
The sonnet we sang apart,
I’m left with an obsidian chasm,
In my cavernous heart.

The fire in your eyes,
Always set my soul aflame.
Now your absence shatters my senses,
And I know I was to blame.

But as I struggle to awake,
From this emotional sleep,
I hunger to imbibe the essence,
Of your feminine mystique.
