Feet.

high arches. sexy.
listening to a lovers pur.
surrounded by sweet incence,
promises not yet broken by the light of dawn.
seeing every journey,
enduring every cut and every blister.
hard.
tired.
searching for a rest,
a departure from dependence.
wrapped in thick wool, damp from melted snow.
heavy boots.
remembering the abundance of silk stockings and satin slippers.
becoming heavy,
needing the bodies strength to press on.
giving up.
letting go.
feeling the weight, the body fall.
a necessity.
a curse.
too much weight, fat, pain.
rough.
bleeding.
void of previous beauty.
