Hello Crystol, I’m so grateful to you for evaluating this and meditating on it. The poem is a reflection on a joyful period. The passage of time hasn’t altered my opinion though others might differ. The final line I will clarify. Time as metaphor for change which can intrude on experience and alter perceptions The withered root planted maliciously or otherwise. Warm wishes Howard

I am not sure exactly what the interpretation of this one happens to be, but my imagination went wild with ideas. It reads like a good contender for the contest to me. Way to go. Sara K
