Fear's Power

Fear within, a destroyer It consumes so much of life I live inside its cold bounds Need to rid of it

Amazing words. Reminds me of a quote I made a while back, "We are prisoners inside our own minds; fortunately we are also the warden". Keep writing to help the fear subside. Russel, I apologize for not responding lately. I've had zero time to be online due the move my family and I just made to FL from SC. I should be on the Soup more often in the coming days to read and post more poetry (I have written hundreds of poems in the last few weeks but just haven't got the chance to post them). 7 up

To hold onto fear does destroy yet it is difficult to let it go when you are in the midst of it. I want to thank you so much for recognizing my poem Wishes for Magic in your contest. Mahalo, Connie

A good one on fear. I know how it feels to live in fear. This year has been a fearful one for me (stressful). I think all we can do is have faith!

FDR said in his first inaugural speech: "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself". Good writing, Russell. I just have a couple of suggestions for you: You don't need the commas in the second and third lines. Also, how about changing the last line to "Need to expunge it" or "Need to expel it". Either way, you stay within the five syllable limitation for the last line.
