1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
Against the falling rain, a soundless version
rescues my heart with innocence, songs of grace
erasing the darkness, the thunderous conversion
still as the echo of a lasting peace, hope’s embrace
reassuring the winter that there is a second chance
for the music to weep its beauty through the trees
as the soft thoughts of a prayer begins its dance
stirring music that forces me to my knees…
against the backdrop of a rhythmic story
blessings open new dreams with a haunting,
wherever God breathes there is lasting glory
laughing like the wind who bleeds, taunting
where the heart remembers what it means
to let go of the past and reach out, believing
soon the world will end, despite all the vaccines
that were created to make time last, never leaving…
open doors where time seems to reveal
the formation of a distant dare, faintly glowing
remember, wherever we are, despite every ordeal
there is a silent hope pouring out love, flowing
beneath the Son’s soft news, the gospel still heals
even when we don’t see the forest for the trees,
despite all the doubts that seep in, love always reveals
the wonder of a soul who believes in the One who frees…
Against the shedding leaves of the Autumn’s night
there is a gesture of joy that softly plays,
reminding me that His love makes everything right
while my heart continues to believe and praise
knowing, deep down, where His bloods been applied,
there lives a hope that never gives up,
a hope of everlasting peace – faith in the One who died,
the One who rose from the tomb, filling my cup…
with this love that He gave, this love that can save
I know the meaning of grace, the unending favor
of a Savior who poured out His love as He rose from the grave,
restoring my spirit, offering me hope and love to savor –
protecting me from the darkness of selfishness and pride,
all the reasons I am to blame for the darkness in my life,
He changed the woman I was from the inside –
assuring me that this Love will save me from strife…
and soon I’ll meet the One who took away my chains,
encouraged me with His grace and His everlasting love
lifting me from the murky soil of sorrows and pains,
calming me with the wonder of His Spirit, sent from above
so that I know what it means to give into the song
who plays in my heart, the song of His continual mercy
soothing away all my doubts, all my life long
reminding me of His healing despite every controversy
I know the One who brings light to the shadows
with Him beside me, I never need to question
He fulfilled all my needs when He arose,
promising the victory, leaving a lasting impression
on the heart who believes and sees through the fear
the warmth of His spirit coloring the worst
with a gentling truth that stills every tear
the peace that comes from knowing the last will be first…
and when this life is over, I’ll know the endless joy
there is no fear, because all fear He will soon destroy
