Fear of the Known
Have you ever anticipated your own execution?
Knowing what to do to escape it yet too weak to implement it
Have you ever lived in fear of your own death?
And a constant reminder that drops in to keep you on your toes
The feeling is aggravating, the cries of desperation
How can I escape this, why can’t I escape it?
The ditch will ditch me soon enough before I pitch my escape
The poacher toils to eliminate me before I run to my safety pouch
What will I do? What can I do?
The answer lies within
In a place I’ve been too busy to visit
A place that holds peace but I myself I’m in shatters and pieces
The consolation lies with Him
With a person I’ve been too guilty to approach
A person who holds my life but I hold back from giving Him all
Have you ever wondered what it would be like?
If, just for a moment, you would let go of all your worries
Close your eyes and focus on the things that matter
Perhaps, lay on your knees and lift your hands to heaven
Hoping for a touch of love, a kiss of peace
Longing for drop of his oil, the emblem of ecstasy
Have you? Can you?
Have you thought about moments like this?
Your hand in His and His heart for you
Our constellation in Him, beaming with grace and glory
O, how I wish for brighter days
The impending doom all gone
And my will no longer torn
Sweetness in His arms
And everything away from harm
Every night and all of my days
I am coming soon
I just hope it won’t be too late!!!
