Fear

Fear surrounds me; in his devious fog of doubt His fickleness pretends to be my friend Promising to protect me from a perilous end Diminishing my courage into splintered heaps I battle constantly; teetering on uncertainty Piercing my vulnerability; Paralyzing my mobility Stalking me on my primrose path Tiled in miles of fool’s gold

wasn't it said we have nothing to fear but fear itself? Fear seems to rear its ugly head all to often, you did well with this write, I felt as though I was facing my own fear! Another fine write :)

Fear needs to be fought. I use faith and some help from the angels. To doubt oneself a little, I think, helps to fuel creativity. I love your last line!

Nice personification of fear. This poem has an old eerie feel; I can imagine a girl walking through Victorian England with fear stepping quietly and wrapping his cloak around her like fog.

Perhaps he is a truth that your instincts can't bear, a promise of a deeper depth. I absolutely love those last two lines, brilliant feelings of vulnerability, and language of scared affection. J.A.B.
