Fear

Trust in your fear
As it speaks with a voice
Or you'll be left in pieces
With no longer a choice

For your fear will take over
In vociferous chant
To pieces you will collapse
In meandering rant

So when ever this word
Called fear appears
Don't fall to pieces
Or your soul disappears

So simple and so true yet sometimes one of the most difficult things to do... not get lost in the fear :) I trust it yes and with caution pear, sometimes lingering just a while too long, to feel it. See it and hear it, not just in reaction but in thought. Your writing is brilliant and I always enjoy reading you my friend.

Fear does have its place as a survival tool. The trick is to not let fear turn you into a paranoid fool. Great Piece James. Best Wishes Always, Bill

Good write, James! It's true, fear will leave you in pieces! I had an experience when I was paralyzed with fear-literary! There are different aspects of fear- one kind of fear makes you more aware and intune to your situation- that's good- the other is from mistrust, ignorance or consequences, etc. Have a good Thnxgiving with your loved ones, my friend! Thank you for your comments on my poems! Peace and love, Audrey

love the word "vociferous" I don't agree with the beginning but I do the end and I think you may have not said enough on the subject LOL. Fear is a "cue" look here you thimble headed human you need to work on this "issue" OR your life will be limited by this fear! Fear needs to be USED a prod for self examination "why am I afraid of this?" What would really happen and how would I manage if I confounted my fear. Love Ya always Deb (PS or you get to come back & address it in the next lifetime!)

Fear most definitely has a function. It is the survival instinct in us. Worry, however, has no function and only destroys. We must learn to separate the two. Hugs, my friend! Donna

Very wise words, James. You know the fear I've been dealing with lately and the last two lines have a powerful impact. Definitely one for my faves! And thanks for joining me in our latest collaboration. It's so good to know you are there when things seem to get out of hand. Much love to my favorite Highlander! Carolyn

There are only two choices. Fear for one and love for the other. Facing the fear and overcoming is not easy. Nicely done Rhyme on a good topic. Sara
