Contest: Andaree Me Again

Sponsor: Andrea Dietrich

The anger and yelling are too much to bear There must be a quiet place somewhere Run from your home - out the door Climb way up on your Favorite Tree Savor it Don't fret anymore Gaze afar to the lake's shore The birds are more than happy to share The anger and yelling are too much to bear

This would be even higher if it were punctuated. I love it. Congrats

It was interesting exercise to give a try at writing in this form. I enjoyed it.

Love this...I see a young child running from adult conflict and finding a refuge. Stark and real, thank you for sharing! Favorite line, "the birds are more than happy to share".

Thanks Crystol, the only thing not real is there's no lake by my childhood house :-) One time I laughed when a friend of mine told me that her husband, a middle-aged man with 4 kids, climbed a tree after getting into an argument with her.

To escape into nature, wonderful as is this poem.

Thanks Arthur, and agreed about nature, it's always calming to me to be in the presense of plants and animals.

Well done! I want to write something in this form, but nothing 'has come to me yet.' :-) You've inspired me though with what you've done. Best wishes with the contest, Sara

Thanks Sara, I know you'll do a great one, once the inspiration hits you. I struggled with another subject, but when I changed it to "tree", it was easier.
