Father's Day Wish

Dad missing you so much

on this father's day.

So many years ago you

left this old world without me

getting to know you better, am

wishing you a most happy

father's day.

My father's day wish is

that I could go back in time

and tell you how I really loved you,

but knowing I can't.

So my wish is that all sons and daughters

would tell their dads how

they loved them on this father's day

to spend more time and get to know

them better, before it's too late.

Written 6-17-11

For all fathers's, sons, and daughters out there.

A great Father`s Day card for all. Wish I could tell my dad how much I wish I could have known him better. Lots of emotion here. Very well done. One typo: 10th line down from top. `how much`instead of how how. God Bless, JB

James, I'm sorry you didn't get to spend much time with your father when you were very young, but at least you had those nine years. It's a pity your wife never met him. I hadn't seen my father in the nine months before he died. My stepmother didn't like it when he spent time with his children. But we did stay in touch by phone and I loved him dearly. Fathers Day is rough for me now, just as Mothers Day always is. Mom died in '84. Love and blessings to you, a fine father and grandfather!

Oh, James, if only children would express their love more often. Sorry for your loss. My dead died two years ago and I miss him very much. Live in his old house now and am surrounded by memories. Had a big portrait of him made for a birthday present and it hangs in the living room as a reminder. I hope he always knew how much I loved him. Happy Fathers Day! Love, Carolyn

I see you lost your father far too soon as did I. It makes for a hard Father's Day but the tributes in poem help to heal the heart. Mike
